Akash Iyer is a master’s student in Robotics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, building on his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland. His passion for robotics has been shaped by hands-on experiences, including designing and building a quadruped robot from the ground up with Robotics@Maryland, conducting research on autonomous underwater vehicles, and completing advanced coursework in robot mechanics and perception. Beyond his academic and research achievements, Akash has been a dedicated instructor and mentor, teaching STEM concepts to students of all ages and sharing his enthusiasm for engineering and innovation. Since 2021, he has been a valued member of the Ursa Majors Group, where he continues to combine technical expertise with a commitment to inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders.
