Amanda is a current sophomore concentrating in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the Cornell College of Arts & Sciences. Her current research interests concern motor proteins and the homologous recombination mechanism and she hopes to do pre-clinical research in the future.  In addition to general stem classes, her academic interests extend to inequality studies, gender and sexuality studies, and computer science. As a tutor and through other organizations such as Science Olympiad @ Cornell and Encouraging Young Engineers and Scientists, she has continued to dedicate much of her time towards inspiring young scientists in stem fields. In her free time, she enjoys playing badminton and going rock climbing.
